When a major game with cross-platform play comes out, fans want to know what platforms it\u2019ll be on. Since Tekken 8<\/a><\/em> isn\u2019t exclusive to the big first parties, is it coming to the Switch? Here\u2019s what we know below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is Tekken 8 <\/em>coming to the Nintendo Switch?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you are holding out for a port of this to come to Nintendo\u2019s hybrid console, you shouldn\u2019t. With Tekken 8<\/em> only being available for PC and the current generations of PlayStation and Xbox, it\u2019s an indicator of what type of power is needed to run the game. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tekken 7 <\/em>never came out for the Switch either, despite the game\u2019s ongoing success after many seasons of new characters and balance changes. It\u2019s just that with previous fighting game Switch ports, many compromises have to be made so that they run properly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We can\u2019t really make the assumption that hardware restraints prevent ports to the Switch, but if Mortal Kombat 1<\/em> is any indicator<\/a>, it\u2019s a safe one to make. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We can\u2019t also outright say that the game will never come to a Nintendo console either. After all, it has technically<\/em> appeared on Nintendo hardware before, with Tekken Advance<\/em> on the GBA. With more and more rumblings about new hardware on the horizon<\/a>, there can be a sliver of hope. Bandai Namco and Katsuhiro Harada have neither confirmed nor denied anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re really itching to play Tekken 8<\/em>, you will have to concede and get it on either the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, or PC. Luckily, this game does offer cross-play<\/a>, so you can play with anyone who opts to do that as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unless you\u2019re very patient and waiting to see if some kind of definitive edition of the game comes out in a year or two (and maybe on Nintendo\u2019s new rumored and overdue home console), you can go ahead.
