However, with cross-play being a thing now, there can be complications. In the case of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.destructoid.com\/tag\/tekken-8\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tekken 8<\/a><\/em>, that is slightly the case, so here\u2019s how to add friends in the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-how-to-add-friends-on-tekken-8\">How to add friends on <em>Tekken 8<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This guide is mostly for people to add friends in-game, from other platforms, as a &#8220;<em>Tekken 8 <\/em>friend.&#8221; If you plan on playing with friends on the same platform as you, it\u2019s all straightforward. <strong>To add friends on other platforms<\/strong>, follow these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>In the main menu, select Tekken Fight Lounge.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coordinate with your friend(s) and pick the \u201cSelect from region\u201d option.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure that cross-play is on. \n<ul>\n<li>If cross-play is not on, the game will say \u201cNot for Cross-Platform Play.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Join the same lobby.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When you are in the lobby, press the \u201cLounge Menu\u201d button.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on \u201cCommunity\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select \u201cPlayers in the Lounge\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Find your friend(s).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select \u201cTekken 8 Friend Request\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On your friends\u2019 end, they have to select the Community option and check their notifications.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also create a private online match and use a passcode, so only your friends can join. Then, simply navigate to their profiles and do the same friend request you&#8217;d do if you were in a Tekken Fight Lounge. Sadly, there doesn&#8217;t seem to be a friend code option available to make adding cross-platform friends any easier at this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.destructoid.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/How-to-add-crossplay-friends-Tekken-8.jpg?w=640&#038;resize=640%2C360\" alt=\"How to add crossplay friends in Tekken 8\" class=\"wp-image-455214\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Screenshot by Destructoid<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you have successfully added each other in-game, you can now go into the Player Match section in the Main Menu and invite each other to lobbies. <strong>If you want to skip the confusing avatar portion of the game, follow these steps:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>In the Main Menu, head over to the Online tab and select \u201cPlayer Match\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create a session and set your own parameters, like private slots and so forth.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once your lobby section is created, press the \u201cSub-Menu\u201d button and select \u201cInvite Friend\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you followed the steps above correctly, your <em>Tekken 8<\/em> friend(s) should appear. This can only be selectable if you <a href=\"https:\/\/www.destructoid.com\/is-tekken-8-crossplay-explained\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">have cross-play enabled<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>With that out of the way, you can now play with your friends despite what platform you\u2019re on.
