Early on in Enshrouded<\/em>, you\u2019ll be asked to build a Flame Altar. It’s the source of your biggest buffs, base building, and even safety. If it’s your first rodeo with a survival game, then its importance and how to get your first Flame Alter may register immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flame Alter and Base Improvements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To build your first Flame Alter, Enshrouded’s<\/em> initial quest will walk you through. The quest, Flame Alter and Base Improvements, tasks you with using the Spark received from the starting area shrine and starting life as a first-time fantasy homeowner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the Cinder Vault<\/strong>, where you begin, head outside and look north to the red hue. You’ll have to navigate your way there down the mountain path, then collect materials to craft the Flame Alter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stones are abundant all over; you can pick them up before mining them later with proper tools. Once you’ve selected the altar in your inventory, place it down. You might get a bit of whining from the game demanding flatter space, so just move it around until the alter settles. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

You can think of your flame altar as a base of sorts. Here, you\u2019re safe from any dangers, and you get warmth and comfort to refresh you. It’s just the beginning, too, as Flame Alters offer all sorts of upgrades to give your Enshrouded <\/em>character a boost. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can only place two Flame Alters initially, and they won’t allow you to overlap \u2014 that seems a bit pointless, anyway.
