One of these is a new artifact loadout feature that, while exciting at first glance, might not be what players expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-not-the-loadouts-we-re-looking-for\">Not the loadouts we\u2019re looking for<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>From very soon after the launch of <em>Genshin Impact<\/em>, players have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/Genshin_Impact\/comments\/pvw1hh\/im_honestly_confused_as_to_why_certain_good\/?rdt=55494\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">voiced<\/a> the need for artifact loadouts. By this, they meant a system similar to <em>Honkai 3rd\u2019s<\/em> Plans that allows players to save a character\u2019s equipment set, making it easier to switch builds on the go. <em>Genshin Impact<\/em> characters often have multiple builds or share gear with other characters, so an artifact loadout system has been a common demand within the community for the past three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.destructoid.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Honkai-3rd-Plans-stigmata-system.webp?w=640&#038;resize=640%2C360\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-450539\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Screenshot by Glai<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead, it looks like the loadouts being implemented in Version 4.4 will consist of artifact recommendations using the artifacts in your inventory. The \u201cquick loadout\u201d recommendations will be based on user data, but you can also customize your criteria to some degree with \u201ccustom loadouts.\u201d No matter which method you use to generate your recommended set, there is no mention of being able to save your equipped set or saving multiple sets of gear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.destructoid.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Genshin-custom-quick-loadouts-feature.webp?w=640&#038;resize=640%2C360\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-450543\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Image via HoYoverse<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s worth noting that <em>Honkai 3rd<\/em>, another HoYoverse game, has had its Gearing Plans system since <a href=\"https:\/\/honkaiimpact3.fandom.com\/wiki\/Version_3.0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">April 2019<\/a>, more than a year before <em>Genshin Impact\u2019s<\/em> release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even if it\u2019s not what veteran players wanted, the quick loadout function could still be useful for casual players. If nothing else, it lets us quickly equip our characters with something usable while using minimal brainpower. I imagine it\u2019ll be nice to have a character fully geared up with one click.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The custom loadout function looks like it requires a few more brain cells to set up though, and those who really care about min-maxing their artifacts probably already use <a href=\"https:\/\/frzyc.github.io\/genshin-optimizer\/#\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Genshin Optimizer<\/a> or other calculators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-various-other-quality-of-life-upgrades\">Various other quality of life upgrades<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Aside from artifact loadouts, it looks like we\u2019ll be getting plenty of other general system upgrades.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Encounter Points system was added in Version 4.1, allowing players to bypass daily Commissions. Starting in Version 4.4, you\u2019ll get a reminder alert to talk to Katheryne to claim additional daily rewards. Apparently, many players were forgetting to talk to Katheryne after doing their dailies, myself included.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The number of party slots you can save will be increased from 10 to 15. Additionally, when completing character trials, you can now start the next character\u2019s trial immediately without having to exit back to the overworld. If you\u2019re playing on a PC, there will also be a new setting for borderless windowed mode.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There will also be a new \u201cDynamic Character Resolution\u201d function that dynamically changes the details of character models to maximize performance. I can\u2019t see much of a difference between HoYoverse\u2019s example images, but the edges of Aether\u2019s ring-shaped ornament and pauldron do seem a bit smoother after optimization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.destructoid.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Genshin-Dynamic-Character-Resolution.webp?w=640&#038;resize=640%2C360\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-450540\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Image via HoYoverse<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-serenitea-pot-optimizations\">Serenitea Pot optimizations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Serenitea Pot will be receiving some updates too. Certain furnishings will be recategorized for more intuitive searching. After placing a furnishing, your place in scrolling menus will be remembered so that you\u2019re not automatically booted to the start of the list. Companions will show their Friendship Level in the Companions menu.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There will also be some ordering changes to the images for the furnishing Lingering Moment. This furnishing is a framed photo that showcases each ending for character Hangouts. Starting in Version 4.4, the furnishing will prioritize images from Hangouts you\u2019ve already completed. This part of the Developers Discussion is worded a bit confusingly, so we might have to wait for more details during the Special Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.destructoid.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Genshin-teapot-Tubby-Bennett.webp?w=640&#038;resize=640%2C360\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-412510\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Screenshot by Destructoid<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-when-can-we-expect-these-updates\">When can we expect these updates?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All of these changes are slated to go live in <em>Genshin Impact <\/em>Version 4.4, which is expected to drop on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.destructoid.com\/genshin-impact-roadmap-and-update-schedule-2024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>January 31st<\/strong><\/a>. A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hoyolab.com\/article\/24393745\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Special Program<\/a> has been announced for <strong>January 19 at 7:00 AM (UTC-5)<\/strong>, which will detail all of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.destructoid.com\/new-characters-xianyun-and-gaming-announced-for-genshin-impact\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">new characters<\/a>, events, and other content coming in the next version update.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regardless of their exact implementation, I\u2019m still glad to see the <em>Genshin Impact<\/em> team continuing to roll out quality of life updates. Who knows?
