One report indicates that it might not be the end for the <em>Castlevania <\/em>universe on the service, however.<\/p>\n<p>Following a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NXOnNetflix\/status\/1382736509665644544\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">promo art reveal<\/a>, Netflix posted a new trailer on Twitter, saying the final season of <em>Castlevania <\/em>will arrive on May 13.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">This is where it all started. The final season of Castlevania arrives May 13. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/sLqWjJxjoA\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/sLqWjJxjoA<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; NX (@NXOnNetflix) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NXOnNetflix\/status\/1383088111513571328?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow\">April 16, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Though the story of Trevor Belmont, Sypha Belnades, and Alucard may be coming to a close, Netflix may not be done with <em>Castlevania<\/em>&nbsp;as a whole. <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2021\/04\/castlevania-canceled-end-season-4-premiere-date-netflix-new-series-universe-1234735439\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Deadline<\/a> reports that it hears Netflix is eyeing a &#8220;new series set in the same <em>Castlevania <\/em>universe with an entirely new cast of characters.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s certainly no shortage of Belmonts to pull from, or even other games in the series without a Belmont in the lead. (Soma Cruz, anyone?) Hopefully this report means <em>Castlevania <\/em>will continue on in some manner, though. The series has been pretty great so far, and as Netflix continues to pick up more video game adaptations like <em><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.destructoid.com\/stories\/it-looks-like-the-second-season-of-the-witcher-show-will-tackle-the-wild-hunt-624322.phtml\" rel=\"noopener\">The Witcher<\/a><\/em>, <i><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.destructoid.com\/stories\/dota-dragon-s-blood-is-worth-a-watch-even-if-you-don-t-play-624266.phtml\" rel=\"noopener\">Dota: Dragon&#8217;s Blood<\/a><\/i>, and <em><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.destructoid.com\/stories\/what-do-you-think-of-the-new-trailer-for-resident-evil-infinite-darkness--626190.phtml\" rel=\"noopener\">Resident Evil<\/a><\/em>, it&#8217;d be nice to still see one of the series that laid the groundwork keep going.<\/p>\n<p>For now though, I just hope the heroic trio of <em>Castlevania <\/em>protagonists gets a happy ending.
